Stacey Solomon insists she WILL take maternity leave after giving birth to third child after claiming she was too worried about money to have time off work

STACEY Solomon insisted she WILL take maternity leave after giving birth to her third child, after claiming she was too worried about money to take a break.

The pregnant Loose Women star confirmed she'll temporarily quit the chat show and other telly commitments when she delivers her first baby with partner Joe Swash.

Stacey, 29, told Lorraine viewers: "I will give myself a couple of weeks to adjust before the due date.

"But you know I enjoy my work so much and that will keep me occupied, it gets to that point in pregnancy that you think 'Oh my god is it ever going to end?' Work can help with that.

"People keep saying I can't take maternity leave but of obviously I can, but we are all self employed so it is different, we could not be working for the next six months.

"I'm not planning on having loads of maternity but I'm not planning on having none."

Stacey had previously told Loose Women viewers that taking maternity leave is difficult because she doesn't get paid.

She explained last month: "I'm self-employed so if I don't work, I don't get paid.

"In this industry you can only earn while you're working and it might be a situation that I have work now but in six months time I might not. I will carry on working."

Stacey and Joe, 37, first started dating in January 2016 and the former X Factor star is already mum to 10-year-old Zachary and six-year-old Leighton, who she shares with ex Dean Cox.

She also opened up about the sex of her unborn baby and admitted that she would be "interested" in welcoming a daughter into the family.

Stacey, who released her book Happily Imperfect today, told host Lorraine Kelly: "We feel so privileged to be able to pregnant. I definitely am interested, that curiosity about having a girl.

"But I feel we are really lucky to be parents please god we have a healthy baby, no matter what."

Actor Joe was the first to make their couple's exciting announcement on his social media page.

The star wrote: "Have been driving myself mad thinking that she’s bored senseless of me and can’t stand to be awake for longer than 10 minutes of my company…

"So you can imagine my delight to find out that she still loves me and my company very much she’s just been growing a baby.

"I can’t begin to describe how happy we are to be able to share this wonderful news.

"We've been so blessed with three incredible children that we've had the privilege of raising and we are forever grateful to have the chance to become parents to another wonderful child.

"It’s all very overwhelming and emotional and we couldn’t be happier right now."

Emotional Stacey followed up with a picture of the scan, adding: "Every time I go to write anything I sob so… what he said @realjoeswashy".

Taking to Twitter, the expectant star retweeted Joe's message and added: "Words aren’t working for me right now so ditto @realjoeswash" alongside a crying and yellow heart emoji. We just can't wait for it to happen."
