EastEnders star drops surprising fact about Sean Slater and cousin Kat Moon

EastEnders actor Robert Kazinsky has dropped a surprise fact about his character Sean Slater and on-screen cousin Kat Moon, that we hadn’t even realised.

Sean makes his big return on Friday, with him featuring in all of next week’s episodes.

The fan favourite will be at the centre of scenes involving the Slater clan, as Sean reunites with mum Jean, sister Stacey and even cousin Kat.

But what viewers might not know is this will be the first time Sean and Kat are seen on-screen together, with them never having been on the BBC soap at the same time before.

Despite being part of the same family, and Kat having spoken about Sean in the past, cast member Rob and co-star Jessie Wallace have never actually filmed together.

Jessie had left her role as Kat prior to Sean arriving in 2006, with him then departing in 2009.

Actress Jessie has made several returns in her time on the show, but neither of them occurred while Rob was still filming.

Viewers may be surprised to know this, considering how close the Slater clan are, with it hard to believe two of the biggest characters in the family, and the soap, have never met on-screen.

Sean was even predicted to be Kat's secret son in a twist at one point, with this later revealed not to be the case.

Rob revealed all, and teased his scenes with Jessie as he commented on the “funny” scenario.

He explained: “I didn’t actually work with Jessie the last time, that’s the funny thing, being a Slater but not working with her.

“I met Jessie once before and we talked about our characters, who obviously grew up together and we have a huge family history but this is the first time we’ve ever properly met and been in scenes together.

“It would have been brilliant to do more with her but as I’m back for such a short amount of time we couldn’t.”

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
