While the actor has appeared in soaps Casualty, Doctors and Hollyoaks, where she played Lynette Drinkwell, she is set to join BBC soap EastEnders later this year, according to The Sun.
A source told the publication: “Bosses are keeping tight-lipped about how she’ll feature but regardless of what role she plays, she is sure to impress.”
Amy is perhaps best known for her role as Dr Jill Weatherill in ITV hospital drama The Royal.
She is the sister of fellow entertainers and actors, Ted Robbins and Kate Robbins.
Showbiz clearly runs in the family as Amy is also the aunt of Emily Atack, who is Kate’s daughter.
The Inbetweeners actress made a big impact when she appeared on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! last year where she came in second place.
Amy isn’t the only new addition to the cast this year as the programme is welcoming a few new characters in the coming months.
Stuart (Ricky Champ) and Callum “Halfway” Highway’s (Tony Clay) dad is set to waltz into Walford soon.
He will be played by actor Richard Graham who has had roles in big films such as Titanic and Gangs of New York.
However, he may be a force to reckon with as in the summer trailer for the programme he can be seen pinning Halfway up against a wall as he grabs him by his shirt collar.
Elsewhere, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) will be getting a new love interest in the form of comedian Adrian Edmonson who will play Daniel Cook.
As viewers will know, Jean is currently involved in an ovarian cancer storyline and she is currently undergoing treatment.
She will meet Daniel as she continues her treatment and he will become a support to her.
When the news was announced last month, Executive producer Jon Sen stated: “Adrian’s a phenomenal talent who will bring his unique blend of intelligence, warmth and humour to the role of Daniel.
“We’re all over the moon he’s coming to Walford, and can’t wait for this love story to hit screens later this year.”
While Adrian said of his new role: “There were only fifteen boys on my drama course at Manchester Uni, and I’ll be the third to appear in EastEnders – so I feel it’s a kind of tradition!
“The other two being Tom Watt (Lofty Holloway) and Paul Bradley (Nigel Bates).”
The programme recently played host to one iconic 80s child star.
Lee MacDonald, who played Zammo in Grange Hill, appeared as a bus driver Terry on the programme a few weeks ago.
EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
