Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd shows off results of his hair transplant as he joins co-stars travelling to NTAs

The 31-year-old actor shared the news he had undergone a hair transplant earlier today, after going bald following his split from former fiance Lauren Shippey.

And with a big night ahead of him at the NTAs, Jack showed off the results of the procedure as he caught a train from Manchester to London with his co-stars.

Wearing black jeans, a white jumper and black biker jacket, Jack – who plays David Platt in the ITV soap – kept his eyes covered with a pair of sunglasses.

He carried his outfit for the bash in a protective bag over his shoulder, just hours before finding out if he had won the award for Serial Drama Performance following David's harrowing rape storyline.

Coronation Street is also nominated in the Serial Drama category alongside Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks.

Jack, who is now dating PR girl Hanna Treweek – split from fiancee Lauren Shippey in 2017 and said stress in his personal life contributed to his hair loss.

Jack has played David Platt in Corrie since he was 12 and revealed he watched his hair slowly thinning on the soap.

He said in a candid post on Instagram: "I could see the difference when I watched myself on screen and when I was travelling in a lift and the mirror would highlight my hair loss.

"A few of the make-up girls at Corrie suggested that I should have it done and I have talked it through with a few people at work.

"My hair loss has definitely accelerated in the last year.

"I have had a few personal issues off-screen which have been stressful and I am also an insomniac which just adds to my stress levels."

Jack, who has just moved in with Hanni, shared snaps of doctors working on his scalp and added: "It is such a common thing for guys to have now – like a male version of the boob job.

"I decided to have it done because my hair loss has really escalated in the last year, particularly at the front of my scalp.

"I remember seeing myself on screen and thinking: 'Oh my God, it is really falling out.'"
