Coronation Street’s Steve McDonald’s (Simon Gregson) life will be left hanging in the balance after events take a dark turn.
The Coronation Street cast member gets nagged by his wife Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) about finding a place of their own, but he is worried when a rival cab company threatens to steal all of their profits by undercutting him.
Things get even worse when Steve gets a fare for a pensioner wrong and ends up losing a lot of money.
He is later forced to tell Tracy they can’t afford a house right now, but he proposes using their £20k savings to create an app that could make them a lot of money.
However, Tracy is horrified as she realises Steve is suggesting they spend all of their savings and insists he should resort to illegal means to make as much money as possible.
Doing what he is told, Steve picks up a man when he is flagged down, but while the customer seems nice, everything quickly escalates.
He asks Steve to stop so he can go pick up some flowers, but as he watches him go into into the shop, Steve realises the man is very dangerous.
As he hurries back to the car and demands Steve drives him away, things look seriously dire as he realises the criminal has a knife.
Steve is taken hostage and is forced to beg for his life as he is held at knifepoint.
He is taken to an abandoned tunnel and he quickly realises this could be the end for him.
In a desperate attempt to save his own life, he tries to appeal to the man’s better nature as he shows him pictures of his children.
But is it too little too late as Steve is killed?
Corrie continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
