Chris Ramsey has some competition when it comes to being the funniest one in the house.
The comedian’s wife Rosie is proving she’s just as hilarious in their brand new podcast.
The husband-and-wife team have launched weekly series, Sh**ged Married Annoyed, and it’s all about airing their marital gripes.
The rib-tickling podcast is already storming the iTunes chart – and the couple can’t believe it.
Chris and Rosie revealed all about the origins of their podcast in an exclusive chat with Mirror Online.
And it turns out it’s something they’ve been planning to do for years … they just didn’t realise it.
Chris said: "It’s like we’re a record label or a big film company and we’ve planned the perfect release. You know how Marvel planned like 10 films ahead to do Infinity War?
"I did stand up and Rosie popped up in all my stories on stage so the crowd kind of knew her, then she pops up on my Facebook Lives, then she’s got her own Instagram and people follow her on that, then boom we’ve got our own thing together and we couldn’t have planned it better if we’d meant to."
"It’s been years in the making," he laughed.
Chris, who has his own Comedy Central series The Chris Ramsey Show, has been chatting about his wife, and their three-year-old son Robin, in his stand-up comedy routines for years, and Rosie admits the podcast is a way for her to finally tell her side of the story.
During the episodes, the couple talk about their happy life together in the North East – and all the things that wind them up about each other.
They also read out questions sent in by fans and even play one recorded by a special celebrity contributor.
The first episode saw Ed Sheeran ask a question about his favourite condiment, tomato ketchup.
And the couple both have dreams of certain celebs getting involved.
While Rosie wants her favourite celebrities James McAvoy and Julie Walters to send in their queries, Chris confessed: "Billy Connolly, if I got a question off him I think I’d actually cry my eyes out.
"Or Robert Downey Jr, but he’d have to do it as Tony Stark."
While Chris is huge name on the comedy circuit and known for his TV appearances in BBC2 sitcom Hebburn, on ITV2’s Celebrity Juice and hosting I’m A Celebrity spin-off Extra Camp, among many others, Rosie has a huge following of her own.
The singer and actress delights her 103,000 Instagram followers on a daily basis with updates of her life at home, hilarious impressions of vloggers, singing skills, and parenting mishaps.
And she’s even a favourite among celebs like Frankie Bridge and Giovanna Fletcher because of her no-nonsense, no-bulls**t approach to social media.
The theme is something the couple want to carry across to their podcast.
Rosie said: "I like to think me and Chris, we’re both from the same working class town and we still live here and I think we just know so many people our age who are in a relationship who are going through exactly the same thing, and why sugar coat it when people get it and can relate to it?
"We’re not shy characters so we’re not afraid to just say it."
Chris added: "There’s total honesty and transparency in my stand up and Rosie’s Instagram’s the same.
"People love Rosie so much because they follow her and they say, ‘You cut through the Instagram bulls**t’.
"If we did a podcast trying to make our lives look perfect we’d be getting emails off people saying ‘What the hell’s this?’"
"I couldn’t keep it up," Rosie confessed. "It’s a skill in it’s own to be able to maintain that level of perfection, I just couldn’t do it."
As of yet, the couple admit they’ve got no long-term plan for their podcast – they simply just love doing it.
Chris told us: "We don’t know at the minute, it’s an introduction to people for me and Rosie doing something together which is nice.
"As someone who has toured the country and done my own stuff, it’s just a genuine pleasure to be able to be at home and do work with Rosie, the fact we get to do something like this together and we really enjoy it and make each other laugh, it’s just perfect.
"I’m not touring this year, but I called my last tour the ‘Just Happy To Get Out Of The House’ tour, but actually, I’m really f***ing happy to be home."
"Liar," Rosie laughed.
She added: "We never thought it would go to the top of the charts."
"It flew," Chris said excitedly." The trailer went to No1 on iTunes on shows and episodes and then the first episode went straight to the top, as soon as it came out. It’s insane.
"We knew people might like it, and Rosie has fans and I’ve got fans but we never thought it would fly straight to the top of the charts. It’s still up there in the top 10 now with established stuff that’s been out for years."
